“Sapori d’Italia” at World Gourmet Summit 2008

Within this important event, the Italian Trade Commission, primary partner and key sponsor of World Gourmet Summit, is presenting “Sapori d’Italia”, an event that will showcase a series of culinary demonstrations as well as a wide range of premium Italian Food Products like pasta, wine, flour, cheese, extra virgin olive oils, coffee, liqueurs, balsamic vinegars, etc. It represents a good opportunity to get to know the variety of products that pertain to the rich and diversified Italian regional culinary tradition.

“Sapori d’Italia” will include the “Italian Flour Training Masterclass” that will be conducted by Carlo Marengoni, Italian chef of the Bologna Restaurant, on 23 April 2008, from 09.00 am until 10.00 am, at the Singapore Tourism Board Auditorium. This masterclass will show the use of flour in the making of Italian cuisine featuring two recipes.

Soon after, from 10.30 am until 11.30am, at the same venue, Chef Carlo
Marengoni will conduct another workshop consisting of the demonstration of three dishes of the Molise regional tradition. After the class, our guests will be invited to sample the dishes created and they will also have the opportunity of a Q&A session with the chef. During the demonstration Molise Region products will be displayed.

For this edition one Michelin-starred chefs Andrea Canton and Antonella Ricci, one of the most talented young female chefs in Italy, will perform their culinary crafts to the community conducting workshops featuring two of their signature dishes at the Singapore Tourism Board Auditorium respectively on 19 and on 26 of April. Italian Food Stations will be present at the gala reception on 13 of April and the Gourmet BBQ on 26 of April.

An Italian Flour Training Masterclass
There will be a masterclass around the use of flour in the making of Italian
cuisine by the Italian chef, Carlo Marengoni.

Culinary Masterclass from the Molise region
There will be a demonstration of three dishes by the Italian chef, Carlo Marengoni. Our guests will be invited to sample the dishes created after the class and they will also have an opportunity for a Q&A session with the chef.

Culinary Workshop with Italian Masterchefs Andrea Canton & Antonella Ricci
The two 1 Michelin starred Italian chefs will be conducting workshops featuring two of their signature dishes.
